LGBTQ+ Giving Circle Fund
The LGBTQ+ Giving Circle was created thanks to the leadership of local community volunteers. Their leadership helped put together an Advisory Committee, which will guide the overall vision of the Giving Circle. The individuals on the committee will reflect diversity in : career/vocation, age, race, gender identities and sexualities within the LGBTQ communities, ally-identifying, and lived experiences.
The LGBTQ+ Giving Circle concept started as conversations with community members as a way to encourage collective philanthropy that is invested prudently to provide grant opportunities to Lancaster-based community benefit organizations. Ultimately, the grants from this Giving Circle will support projects that celebrate LGBTQ+ Lancastrians and make positive impacts in their lives in Lancaster County. In order to provide coordination and oversight, the advisory committee will oversee the LGBTQ+ Giving Circle and ensure a consistent and equitable approach to the activities, fundraising, and grantmaking of the Circle.
