Meet the 2025-2026 Lancaster County Community Foundation Scholarship Recipients
The Lancaster County Community Foundation awarded 47 scholarships for the 2025–2026 school year to students across Lancaster County. These scholarships support local students pursuing higher education in fields like nursing, education, engineering, business, political science, and the arts. Each award is made possible by generous donors who have contributed to our community’s endowment over time.
More than just financial support, these scholarships are a powerful investment in the next generation of leaders, changemakers, and creative thinkers.

Albert S. Rosman Scholarship
Available to Conestoga Valley High School students regardless of the field of study. $1,500 for one year.

Cora Glacken
Cora is studying Business at Carnegie Mellon University. She is actively involved in Mock Trial, Tri-M, Chick-Fil-A Leadership Academy, and her school’s orchestra. A passionate advocate and performer, she holds honors including Commended National Merit Scholar and Outstanding Advocate at multiple university-hosted events.
Charles W. Shoff Scholarship
Available to Lancaster County students planning a course of study in Geology, Medicine, Agriculture, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechanical Drafting. $1,000 per year, renewable.

Audrey Hovan
Audrey is studying Nursing at Temple University.

Kamryn Andes
Kamryn is a scholar in Penn State’s Schreyer Honors College and works as a peer educator for Schreyer’s freshman orientation program. Kamryn is involved in DiscipleMakers Christian Fellowship, serving on the leadership team and leading a bible study. Kamryn is the volunteer chair for the Pre-Vet Club and competes in Penn State’s Curling Club. When home from college, Kamryn works as a vet assistant at the Lancaster PETS Hospital. Kamryn intends on becoming a small animal veterinarian in the future.

Nolan Armstrong
Nolan is studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan and plans to commission as a U.S. Air Force Officer through the university’s ROTC program. He led his school’s Technology Student Association as President and helped his chapter win a state championship in parliamentary procedure. Nolan is a member of both the National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society and was recognized by the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers for his science fair research on internal combustion engines.

Janelle Miller
Janelle was involved in Marching Band (Secretary, President), Donegal Performing Arts Tech Crew (Crew Lead), Dance Classes at Raven T24Studio, Jazz Band, National Honor Society (President), and Key Club. Janelle was also part of Donegal News Network, Link Crew, Peer Tutoring, Tri-M Music Honor Society, and Math Honor Society. Janelle received the Rotary Student of the Month award, Director’s Award for Band, and Best Marcher Award. Additionally, Janelle participated in LLMEA County Band, Youth Group at Trinity Lutheran Church, babysitting, and the Philadelphia Service Trip.
George W. McKibbin Scholarship
Available to students from Lancaster County who demonstrate academic excellence and dedication to the African American community through their activities, leadership, and service. $2,000 per year, renewable.

Kensington Edmond
Kensington is studying Environmental Engineering at Wilkes University. In high school, she was active in Math Honor Society and Science Olympiad, and held leadership roles in tennis, 4-H, Key Club, and National Honor Society. She received awards in both 4-H and tennis and dedicated a summer to teaching tennis to children as a volunteer.

Rayahna Clerico

Tiyya Geiger
Tiyya Geiger is a graduate and IB Diploma Candidate of McCaskey High School. She plans to attend the University of Pennsylvania to study Political Science and Sociology with a concentration in Educational Policy. Some of her high school achievements include being president of both the Black Student Union and National Honors Society, Editor-in-Chief of the McCaskey Vidette, founder of the school’s first Peer Tutoring Program, and winning awards in Model UN.

Vanessa Grant
Vanessa studies Social Studies & Biology at Harvard College, where she is active in student-led legal and international relations initiatives.

Xavier Samuel
Xavier is studying economics and engineering at Wesleyan University.
Jack and Ginny Lykins Scholarship
The Jack and Ginny Lykins Scholarship Fund is intended to fund full-time, post-secondary education for qualified students expressing interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math, computer science) or healthcare curricula. $3,000 per year renewable.

Jordan Chen
Jordan is studying Neuroscience at Harvard College. A talented pianist and community leader, Jordan has served as piano accompanist for PMEA All-State Chorus and participated in varsity tennis and local volunteer efforts.

William Russell
William is a part of the Messiah Men’s Swimming Team. In addition, he has a big passion for backpacking, having completed treks over fifty miles. Some honors and awards he has received include the rank of Eagle in Scouting, a bronze medal in the National German Exam, and being in the top ten percent of his high school graduating class.
James R. Buescher Scholarship
Available to Lancaster County students planning a course of study in Creative Writing, Journalism, Marketing, Theatre, Anthropology, Mass Communication, and Media Studies. $500 for one year.

Josiah Pletcher
Josiah is majoring in Communication and Media at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. He is a student DJ, events director, and a member of the men’s volleyball team.
Jason M. Truitt Scholarship
Available to any current, graduating high school senior or recent graduate who is or was a Big or Little with Big Brother Big Sisters of Capital Region. $400 for one year.

Zion Mekonnen
Zion is studying Public Relations and Advertising at the University of Southern California.
Joseph and Claudine Hess Scholarship
Available to all Lancaster County students regardless of the field of study. $2,000 per year, renewable up to four years.

Adrienne Crick
Adrienne, an aspiring nurse, is deeply engaged in leadership and service through Key Club, Mini-THON, choir, and community outreach in Elizabethtown.

Alyssa Daly
Alyssa studies Educational Studies at Dickinson College. She’s a leader in civic engagement, advocacy, and arts education and will intern with the Lancaster County Democratic Committee this summer.

Cameron Zuschmidt
Cameron is studying Chemical and Bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania. He leads multiple STEM clubs and is involved in advanced research and local science education outreach.

Kara Nissly
Kara studies History at the College of William and Mary and is a talented writer and singer. She remains active in music, faith-based groups, and academic clubs.

Max Herman
Max is majoring in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Rochester. He is a multi-instrumentalist, accomplished German scholar, and competitive academic team participant.

Grace Fafel
Grace Fafel is a resident of Conestoga and is a 2022 Penn Manor High School graduate. While attending high school she was active in chorus, musical theatre, orchestra, student government, and community volunteering. Grace is passionate about music and as the daughter of a Penn Manor school teacher, she is also passionate about education. As someone with Type 1 Diabetes, Grace is also passionate about advocating for others who face similar challenges. Grace is excited to begin her college journey at Lancaster Bible College in the fall to pursue a degree in Music Education.

Grace Forry
Grace is studying Middle Level Math & Science and Elementary Education at Grove City College, where she will also play on the Women’s Lacrosse team. A graduate of Hempfield High School, Grace is passionate about education and athletics and looks forward to making a difference in both fields.

Hannah Adair
Hannah is studying Health and Physical Education at Messiah University, where she will also play on the Women’s Soccer team. A graduate of Manheim Central High School, she was involved in Student Council, Interact Club, Spanish Club, and multiple honor societies, including the National Hispanic, Math, and National Honor Societies. Hannah has played soccer for 15 years with both club and school teams.

Iyana Nissley
Iyana is studying Biomedical Engineering at Drexel University.

Lauren Leister
Lauren Leister is the daughter of Tim & Bethany Leister. She graduated from Warwick High School in June of 2023 and will be attending The College of William & Mary, majoring in Public Policy. Following college graduation, she plans to attend law school. In her free time, Lauren enjoys playing field hockey and lacrosse, running, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.

Luke Redcay
Luke Redcay is a graduate of Manheim Central High School. He is the son of Eric and Denise Redcay and resides in Mount Joy, PA. While a student at Manheim Central, Luke exceled in both academics and athletics. He was honored to be named captain of both the Varsity Soccer and Track & Field teams during his Senior year. He is active in his church youth group at Manheim BIC. Luke has a love for all things outdoors and new adventures. He will be attending Messiah University in the Fall to pursue a degree in Engineering.

Maria Longenecker
Maria is a 2022 graduate of JP McCaskey High School and plans on attending Eastern Mennonite University in the fall to major in biology with a minor in Spanish.

Savannah Stauffer
Savannah is studying Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania. A graduate of Ephrata High School, she was deeply involved in her church youth group, leading multiple mission trips across the U.S. and abroad. She served as president of her school’s Bible Study Club and Science National Honor Society, and was active in Link Crew and National Honor Society. Savannah also received numerous honors, including Rotary Student of the Month and awards in science and German language competitions.

Sophia Harrill
Sophia Harrill is the daughter of Galen and Zlatka Harrill of Manheim. She graduated from Manheim Central High School’s Class of 2022 and will be attending Lafayette College for Chemical Engineering with the hopes of eventually working to create more sustainable plastics to help make our planet cleaner!
McKonly & Asbury Scholarship Fund for Future Public Accounting Leaders
The McKonly & Asbury Scholarship Fund for Accounting will support rising juniors, seniors, or 5th year college students, pursuing a degree at Messiah University (1), Penn State – Harrisburg (1), Shippensburg University (2), Millersville University (2), or Commonwealth University – Bloomsburg (2), in accounting or equivalent and have a desire for a career in public accounting. This scholarship requires a minimum 3.0 GPA. $10,000 for one year.

Cameron Reed
Cameron studies Accounting at Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania. He is active in fraternity leadership and serves as an intramural referee.

Gabriel Stetler
Gabriel studies Accounting at Millersville University. He serves in student investment leadership and received the 2024 Fulton Bank Award.

Logan Welkom
Logan is majoring in Accounting at Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania. He has earned President’s List honors and is active in finance clubs and sports.

Michele Luo
Michele is studying Accounting at Penn State Harrisburg.

Nathan Garber
Nathan studies Accounting at Shippensburg University. He is the incoming Student Government Association President and a recipient of the PICPA Outstanding Senior Award.

Nolan Westfall
Nolan studies Accounting at Messiah University. He leads the Accounting Club, tutors students, and holds internships with top regional firms.

Andrew Salkin
Andrew is an Accounting and Management major at Millersville University. He is a student recruitment coordinator, Dean’s List student, and entrepreneur.

Talitha Camp
Talitha studies Accounting at Shippensburg University. She’s a member of multiple honor societies and a passionate ballet dancer and snowboard instructor.

Zachary Ginnovan
Zachary is an Accounting major at Messiah University. He serves in ministry accounting and youth mentoring and is a consistent Dean’s List student.
Nathan Schaeffer Scholarship Fund
Scholarships are awarded to Lancaster County students attending Millersville University in the field of education. The student can be either full- or part-time, and undergraduate or graduate. $750 for one year.

Kevin Brooks
Kevin is studying Special Education at Millersville University. He is actively involved in campus life through leadership roles in student programs and service initiatives.
Rick Frankhouser Scholarship Fund
One (1) $1,000 renewable scholarship will be awarded to a student who is a high school senior or graduated from McCaskey High School. The recipient must be majoring in music or linguistics. The recipient must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. If the student changes their major, they could lose the scholarship. Total of 1 student in the program at a time.

Raka Jenik
Raka is majoring in Music Technology at New York University. She spends her time engineering for college radio, attending local music shows, and creating with friends.
Tina Bresnahan College Honorarium
Three (3) one-time $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to a student who is a high school senior or graduated from a high school in Lancaster County. The recipient must be under 25 years old. The student must attend either Millersville University, Harrisburg Area Community College-Lancaster Campus, or Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. A school may have multiple recipients.

Alaina Brenneman
Alaina is studying Mathematics Education at Millersville University. She is a dedicated student-athlete and active in faith-based and academic communities.

Karen Osuna
Karen is studying Accounting at Millersville University.

Linley Hartman
Linley is pursuing Psychology at Millersville University. She is involved in art, mission work, youth volunteering, and outdoor adventures.
Tina Bresnahan College Scholarship
Three (3) one-time full tuition and fees scholarships will be awarded to a student who is a high school senior or graduated from a high school in Lancaster County. The recipient must be under 25 years old. The recipient must attend either Millersville University, Harrisburg Area Community College-Lancaster Campus, or Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. There will be one recipient for each school.

Carly Railing
Carly studies Nursing at Harrisburg Area Community College. She enjoys hiking, farming, and teaching youth about the outdoors and faith.

Talia Hall
Talia is studying Secondary English Education at Millersville University. A passionate performer and leader, she’s involved in music, theater, and over a dozen extracurriculars.

Caleb Roberts
Caleb is majoring in Computer Software Engineering at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. He has a strong interest in web development, game design, and tech-based community service.
