The bottom line is bigger than profit for Jennie.

As the grand prize winner of the Community Foundation’s 2015 Great Social Enterprise Pitch, Jennie’s business—the Lancaster Stroopie Company—is dedicated to promoting the benefits of social enterprise in Lancaster: a business model that interweaves positive social impact with sustainable business planning. The Stroopie Company actively works to employ members of the refugee community of Lancaster, providing sustainable, thriving wage jobs for our community’s newest members. Finishing first in the Pitch served as a springboard for her business, with the prize money and pro-bono services helping in their re-location to the Lancaster Sweet Shoppe on North Duke Street in Lancaster.

Through her commitment to promoting people, planet, and profit, Jennie is helping change the way Lancaster County does business.
