Ms. Wheelchair PA Fund

DONATE

Ms. Wheelchair Pennsylvania provides an opportunity of achievement for women who happen to use wheelchairs to champion people with disabilities in Pennsylvania. Unlike traditional beauty pageants, it is not a contest to select the most attractive individual – rather, it is a competition to select the most articulate, accomplished delegate who will serve as a role model and spokesperson for people living with disabilities in Pennsylvania. The person chosen as Ms. Wheelchair Pennsylvania travels the state communicating the needs and accomplishments of those living with disabilities to the general public, the business community, and the legislature.

A group of women who use wheelchairs and a service dog face the camera. The women are wearing sashes that say "Ambassador" or "Ms. Wheelchair PA"

Ms. Wheelchair PA and ambassadors are chosen as part of the annual competition held in October, during Disability Action Month in Pennsylvania, to educate others through their platforms and personal stories as they make public appearances and conduct radio, print, and television interviews. These women encourage and inspire others to be all they can be.

This endowment through the Lancaster County Community Foundation supports the Ms. Wheelchair Pennsylvania Organization as it accomplishes its mission.
