About the Organization
The Lancaster Family YMCA has served the Lancaster community as a source of health and wellness, recreation, enrichment, after-school programs and other services for children and families for more than 150 years. The Y’s Mission is to be a leader in developing and providing those programs and services that enhance the spiritual, mental, and physical well-being of our community. With branches in City Center and Lampeter-Strasburg, and YMCA Camp Shand, the Y strengthens community through Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.
Why is endowment important to your mission?
The Lancaster Family YMCA is expanding to serve greater numbers of Lancaster County residents; consequently, the need for financial assistance is increasing dramatically. The Lancaster YMCA Foundation has launched a campaign to increase the current endowment to ensure the Y’s ability to respond to both anticipated and unanticipated opportunities and challenges. The additional income provided by the larger endowment will enable the Y to provide assistance to an additional 600 people each month, allowing more of our neighbors to be engaged in Y programs and services for generations to come.
