Friends of the Railroad Museum of PA Endowment Fund
About the Organization
The Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania was established in 1983 to support the mission of the world-class Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, which collects, preserves and interprets the great iron treasures and the fascinating personal stories of Pennsylvania’s rich and diverse railroad heritage for citizens and visitors. The Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania and its members play a significant role in the continuing development of what is widely considered to be one of the top three railroad museums in the world by providing a volunteer and paid staff workforce, fundraising support and outstanding programs.
Why is endowment important to your mission?
Funding from the endowment for the Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania helps to ensure the stability of a variety of critical Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania programs; including curriculum based educational programs for students and teachers, special exhibits, and activities offered to the community and visitors. This endowment is also an investment in the hundreds of thousands of objects in our small artifact and library collections and the Museum’s internationally important collection of more than 100 historic locomotives and railroad cars, now and for the future of Pennsylvania’s railroading heritage for generations to come.
