About the Organization:

The Elizabethtown Area Education Foundation is a private, nonprofit organization that was established to provide a vehicle for individuals and businesses who want to supplement public education in the Elizabethtown Area School District. The foundation secures funding and awards monies to provide supplemental resources that enrich and enhance teaching and learning in the Elizabethtown Area School District and help prepare students for the 21st century. As such, the foundation makes funds available to professional and support staff by awarding educational classroom grants.

Why is an endowment important to your mission?

The Elizabethtown Area School District has earned a reputation as one of the premier school districts in central Pennsylvania. This distinction was attained by creating and sustaining a learning environment that provides a rigorous and relevant curriculum to prepare students for their future in the twenty-first Century workplace. To help the school district offset funding challenges, the Elizabethtown Area Education Foundation was formed with the goal of subsidize educational programs and activities the district is unable to offer because of funding constraints. An endowment helps the district maintain EXCELLENCE in our schools by affording the foundation the opportunity to champion ideas that will accelerate and enhance learning for students.
