We’re open for voting! After twelve weeks of business training and idea incubation, the Great Social Enterprise Pitch has finally launched its crowdfunding phase! The top eight social enterprise ideas are now available for the public to support, share, and—of course—fund!
The Great Social Enterprise Pitch is a friendly business competition and idea incubator bringing together business ideas and creative thinkers from across the community. At the core of The Pitch is “social enterprise”: a model that harnesses the strategic innovation of the business world and uses it to facilitate practical, scalable, and sustainable solutions to our community’s most pressing problems.
Last year’s inaugural class of social enterprise ideas was truly extraordinary (check them out!). This year’s ideas have matched the enthusiasm, dedication and commitment to improving Lancaster County.
Over the next three weeks, you’ll be able to follow these campaigns as they rally funding and support from you, the community members. We encourage you to vote with your dollars, reach out to the idea teams, and most importantly share the ideas that move you with your networks. The next Great Social Enterprise Pitch idea could happen because of you!
Check out the 2015 participants and be sure to vote with your dollars:
Until August 19, you can fund the business ideas that speak to you. The top five ideas will move on to the Live Pitch on September 25 where they’ll compete for cash and pro-bono prizes. Also joining us will be Gabriel Mandujano, founder of Wash Cycle Laundry, a nationally acclaimed social enterprise based in Philadelphia that uses bike power to provide laundry service to those who need it!
