Update: TEC CENTRO

Tec Centro Program: Tec Centro

Partner Organization: SACA Lancaster (and many other community organizations!)

Grant: $315,000 Long Term Creative Solutions Matching Fund

For the past several years, we’ve been proud to partner with the Spanish American Civic Association (and many other organizations in our community!) to make Tec Centro- an innovative bilingual technology center- a reality in Lancaster County.

This spring, we’re happy to say that the training center, located at 102 Chester Street, is now open and partially operating. The center will provide training for high-demand industry jobs in healthcare, culinary arts, dentistry, plumbing, electrical and carpentry trades, as well as adult basic education and remedial English language skills necessary for employment.

This spring Tec Centro is already operating 3 ESL classes, GED classes, a CNA certificate program with a HACC instructor, and employment services, among other courses. Tec Centro is gearing up to be a busy learning center- with more than 200 individuals on the waiting list to start career pathways and ESL classes.

We’re proud to help diversify the local labor market while providing economic opportunity to underserved populations in our community.
