Cracking the Community Code

For Joel Walker, risk is never a four letter word. When he founded Industrial Resolution in 2010, one of his primary goals was to make Lancaster a hub of innovation and connectivity. With support from the Community Foundation, Joel and his team tried something risky: they created the Extraordinary Give App, a first-of-its-kind mobile application for Lancaster County’s largest day of online giving.

Using the app, thousands of people can now connect and support the causes in Lancaster they care about, putting the power of extraordinary community in the pockets of the people that make it just that. Partnerships between the Community Foundation and people like Joel and Industrial Resolution help keep our community creative and unafraid to take risks.
