Lancaster is a community of welcome, and we have been since the start. As America's oldest inland city, we have a long, proud history of welcoming immigrants and refugees seeking a better chance to create extraordinary community.

It's with this spirit in our hearts that the Community Foundation has partnered with Church World Service for the second straight year to support the Concert for Refugees: a celebration of the unique, innovative, and illuminating perspectives from across the globe that help make Lancaster County the "Refugee Capital of the United States".

Featuring performances from the Music for Everyone Community Chorus, Corty Byron, as well as musical acts and performances by local refugee and immigrants of Lancaster County, the evening was fueled by the spirit of what makes Lancaster County extraordinary: its people.

Though the future can be uncertain for many, our community's character remains the same. The Community Foundation is proud to support a community of welcome, and invites you to learn more about our work with the refugee population, as well as the many other areas of Lancaster County!
